Mother of missing Caylee Anthony seeks jail release to help in search
Topics: NewsMY O MY - What is wrong with this woman? What is wrong with the family? I am sure that you all remember the Trenton Duckett Case. Trenton's mother is believed to have been responsible for his disappearance and took that information to the grave when she took her own life. (WMF)
Casey Anthony doesn't know where her 2-year-old daughter is, but she wants to get out of jail so she can join the search to help find the missing toddler, her lawyer said Monday.
Anthony, the 22-year-old mother of Caylee Marie Anthony, will ask an Orange County judge at a hearing today to set bail in her case.
Anthony was arrested Wednesday on child-neglect and other charges after Orange County sheriff's detectives accused her of telling a string of lies about her daughter's disappearance. Anthony told investigators she had not seen Caylee since June 9, but no one reported the toddler's disappearance until last week.
During a news conference Monday, defense attorney Jose Baez said Anthony is "willing to cooperate fully" with law enforcement. But her assistance, he said, should be used to help find Caylee and not to prosecute his client.
When asked why his client lied to detectives, Baez said, "I'm aware and I have to save that for her defense.
"I would love to disclose the reasons. And I'm sure she would. But it certainly creates a disadvantage."
Detectives want to arrange a meeting with Anthony and Baez in the next few days, a Sheriff's Office spokesman said.
Baez said Anthony contends she last saw Caylee when she dropped off the toddler with a baby sitter named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. But Anthony does not know where her daughter is, Baez said.
Baez said he has requested a sketch artist to depict the baby sitter, who may have ties to Miami, Bradenton, Gainesville, New York City, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Charlotte, N.C.
Detectives have not been able to find Fernandez-Gonzalez or prove she exists, said sheriff's spokesman Carlos Padilla.
On Monday, Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, said she did not want to talk about how Caylee disappeared or her daughter. She wanted the focus to be on the search for Caylee.
Cindy Anthony said she was expecting to receive 50,000 fliers about the case Monday for distribution.
Detectives have received more than 100 tips regarding Caylee's disappearance, including some from out of state. But none has been a solid lead, Padilla said.

This case with Casey is a lot like the case with Susan Smith , Susan took her two young boys and sent them into the river in South Carolina , how many times did she say it was this or it was that,it seems that Casey Anthony is doing the same thing and-thinks that she will get by with this.

Dana there are so many similarities between the two cases and anyone who reads the articles with an open mind can see, by actions and comments, that Casey is smitten with someone and wants to live the party life. I pray that the Anthony case does not end like the Smith case but the facts speak for themselves.
