TAMPA - Hillsborough County deputies Friday arrested a 22-year-old woman on felony molestation charges after learning of a relationship between her and a 15-year-old boy, officials said.

Christy Ayala, of 7325 Winchester Drive, Tampa, was held on $23,000 bail at the Orient Road Jail.

She is charged with three felony counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and a misdemeanor count of making a false police report. Jail records list her as unemployed.

Detectives learned of the relationship in a roundabout manner. On Sept. 29, Ayala reported to the sheriff's office that an adult male relative molested her - a report that turned out to be false, officials said.

Detectives said they discovered Ayala had made the false report after a confrontation with her family over her relationship with the teenager.

The sheriff's office did not identify the teenager because of the nature of the charges.

Investigators questioned Ayala on Friday at a sheriff's office facility on North Falkenburg Road. They learned that between February and September, she and the teenager met at least three times, where they hugged and kissed and Ayala asked the boy to touch her, the sheriff's office said.

Ayala also fondled the teenager, the sheriff's office said.

The two communicated hundreds of times by cell phone, the sheriff's office said.

At one point during the relationship, Ayala asked to move in with the teenager's family after they relocated to Pinellas County, the sheriff's office said. The teenager's father denied her request, the sheriff's office said.
