Dad Charged With Leaving Child Alone

TAMPA - After leaving his 8-year-old daughter home alone for more than an hour after midnight, a 26-year-old father was arrested on charges of child neglect, police reported.

Witnesses called police after hearing the young girl screaming in the parking lot at an apartment at 4133 E. Busch Blvd.

The girl’s father, Derrick Davidson, returned to the apartment at 2 a.m. and police arrested him.

Davidson is currently being held at Orient Road Jail on $7,500 bond.

The young girl was placed into custody with her grandmother, police reported.
