Judge reduces bail for father of slain girl

Topics: News

A judge reduced the bail on child pornography charges Thursday for the father of a slain 6-year-old North Port girl.

Judge Charles E. Roberts lowered Dale Fullwood's bail from $50,000 to $10,000. Fullwood, 46, is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.

Police have said Fullwood's arrest is not related to the investigation into the Sept. 17 slaying of his daughter Coralrose Fullwood. No one has been arrested in Coralrose's slaying, and no suspects have been named.

Defense attorneys had asked bail be set at the recommended $1,000 per count, but Roberts said the pornography found on a laptop computer investigators took from the family's North Port home was the "most egregious possible," the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported for Friday's editions.

Assistant Public Defender Adam Tebrugge has argued that Fullwood, who voluntarily surrendered to police, is not a flight risk or danger to the community.

"It's likely that I am going to request a rehearing," said Tebrugge. "I'm not completely satisfied with the order that he issued."

Coralrose's body was found in the woods hours after her parents reported her missing from her bed. She had died from "homicidal violence," police said.

What happens now??????

It seems that with the reduction of bond that Dale may be able to be released. This will put additional pressure on the police department to either charge him, if he is the suspect, or allow him to be released back to society and answer only to the child porn charges. I wonder if he knows that his wife is attempting to sever all ties with him and is moving to another residence? That in its self can cause quite a stir.
