ABF At Poinsettia Parade

Topics: News

Saturday, December 9, 2007 the City of North Port held its Poinsettia Parade to help get the people in the holiday spirit. Santa Claus took off a day from his busy schedule and visited us for awhile but had to get back to the North Pole. A great time for all. People talking, kids smiling and good weather making for a successful event.

The Amanda Brown Foundation set up a booth with pamphlets, pencils, clappers and glass butterflies as give-aways. It did not take long to delete all the supplies in the quest to educate and warn local residents of sexual predators. A list of sexual predators in the local zip codes was available for residents to peruse. Several people were stunned that some of the predators live in their neighborhood.

Tammy Webster, NaKayla Webster, Jeanin Sorke, Carol Sorke, Alicia Taylor and Jennifer Mitchell made up the corps of volunteers, assisting Roy and Sylvia Brown in greeting all the folks. This outing was successful for the ABF and will be repeated at other events in the North Port area.

Thanks to all that stopped by the booth to greet the ABF Crew and a Special Prayer for all who donated their hard earned money to promote child safety in the community.
